Homeostasis, the tendency toward a relatively stable equilibrium between interdependent elements, especially as maintained by physiological processes. In essence the natural balance we try to maintain, the feeling of wellness and the knowledge of when something needs to change. You could reconcile this with the idea and ideal state of inner peace.

To myself this feeling of peace is not something we should expect to be continual throughout our life or even our day, but rather what we should aim to be able to return ourselves to when its disrupted. Much like the common phrase there is no light without the dark to give it shape and meaning, finding balance and being aware of that balance isn't something of note or meaning without the imbalance to give us awareness of that balance.

It's not that we need struggle to give our life meaning, its that struggle, work, an awareness of and a desire for change is a part of life and therefore a part of lifes meaning.

Accepting the fact that life is not ideal is a part of finding this balance and something we are acutely aware of in the trans and LGBTQ+ community as a whole. If we constantly obsess over this idea of an ideal life we will never find peace in our own life, and therefore we will never have the inner strength to push forward the change that is necessary in society.
